Website – www.musicproducerpro.net

1) Following the Billboards is essential stuff that all people that want to get signed should be doing as a standard – it’s very important to know what is going on around in the popular charts. www.billboard.com

2) Getting serious about producing/songwriting – Find the part of the music industry that you want to get into and actually start doing it everyday. No slacking, no excuses.. It is your career at the end of the day.. and don’t ever for a second think because Beyonce has money shes not making music everyday.. FACT!

3) Setting your place of work – It’s essential that you have a place where you make your songs or produce your music, some people like to write songs here and there.. find your place where you can focus and get stuff down. Sometimes you may come to a mental block – go outside for a couple hours and get a break then try again.. simple stuff works.

4) Be productive, set goals. If you want to make a mix cd or have a collection of songs you want to have done.. start setting deadlines! Don’t think when your signed you can just sit around, you will have a deadline the label wants that album done by! And you will have to come up with fresh shit. No slipping.. you will be in the world of world class artists.. if you ain’t up to scratch you will be dropped!!!!

5) Have your work available online for your audience and do EVERYTHING possible with that. A good way to do this is just check all your favorite artist myspaces, website etc out and whatever they are doing.. if possible just go do too. You need to be on the MAP.. you need to do it NOW!! Do not expect shit to just happen for you because your lucky i’m even telling you this shit.. and your boy who makes better beats then you is prob making beats everyday hoping you don’t start!! Cause he knows the KEY!! Make sure your myspace is up.. your on tweeter.. and when your ready .. push your shit on iTunes.. its cheap these days.

6) Quality over Quantity .. i know i said it’s all about having loads of songs made etc.. however remember the quality of what your saying always comes first. Everyone is quality of rushing shit sometimes because you just wanna hear what it sounds like.. but trust.. quality is always better!! How often do you hear something on the radio you can’t understand because the person is mumbling.. hardly ever! End of.

7) Build a team.. you must have heard the saying .. one man cant do everything.. but everyone can do something. You need a team to push your shit when your not there to, a team to push your music to people you don’t know and you do the same back. Teams are essential in the music biz.. Look at your favourite artist.. i’m sure there in a team somewhere down the line..

Demos – Make sure you get your stuff down and ready, you never know who you may want your music and you never know whos hands it may fall into.. and once you have a demo done.. ALWAYS keep at least 5 copies on you everywhere you go. You are the main promoter of your shit.. be on form bra.

9) Make sure you learn how to produce music, how to make beats and even how to sing if your not good before using all of these tips.. or you will be laughed at. Be confident within yourself.. if anything.. feel free to comment on this post and i will listen to your stuff and give you some honest feedback. But knowing what your doing is Essential.. The music industry is full of professionals.. for example.. Souljaboy may not be the best musician in the world however he knows what his doing in the studio to make a hit record.. do you? If not go learn right now!!!!

10) BE YOURSELFFFFFFFF…. 100% INSIDE AND OUT..

Website: www.musicproducerpro.net

Getting a internship at a Major Record Label may sound like something that is hard to do however it isn’t as hard as it seems. I am going to be blunt, it comes down to you producing what the listener wants to hear and what the record label wants to hear. You could be mega talented and could be able to do some crazy keys on the keyboard however you may not be what the record label is looking for however, if you ever got in front of a record label you do not want to make the mistake in playing them something that is not what they want to hear.

Learning what the listener wants to hear is the key to getting an internship in a major record label because if the listener does not what to hear it they are not going to buy it. So if they record label doesn’t feel it and they have years and years of experience, more than likely the listener is not going to feel it however you have to master the key to success in a major record label and that is learning how to make music for the listener.

You could be producing any genre of music because there is a market for everybody out there; it just has to be good enough. It could be that you do have the talent and are ready, however the industry isn’t ready or you could really need help producing music before your ready for major exposure. It all ties down to one thing, producing music that listener wants to hear.

For more information in producing music for the listener visithttp://www.musicproducerpro.net

Good luck getting an internship.

Website – www.musicproducerpro.net

A lot of people would like to know how Timbaland gets his tracks to sound so unique. While he is an amazing producer. One of the major keys to his success is his relentless search for new sounds. Timbaland uses a sound library that makes an amateur producer look like he is using a kids keyboard. To get the sounds that made Justin Timberlakes last two albums slam, you are going to have to look for synths or synthesizers. Two of Timbaland’s favorite are the Vanguard and a synth from Re FX. They were actually made popular by techno producers.

Don’t expect Timbaland to stay their for long though. While you may be able to make tracks like him, He got their first. Labels and publisher are looking for what will be hot in 2 or 3 years not now. If you are an artist, Google chasetrackmusic.com Their is an up and coming producer named Chase McMorrough that has producer some really hot Timbaland style beats, and he is still in the underground so you can get a track, although not for long, for only a couple thousand. We used one for one of our artist. It was the one that got her a deal.

Another great trick to get drums to hit harder is to layer your kick with another 1/32 off time, and change the attack to hard. It really make the beat jump. Hope fully this information was helpful to you. I am going to recommend some materials for you if you are just getting started or even already in the game.

Website – www.musicproducerpro.net

Music Production Software is the first thing a new producer is looking for, it allows the producer to create music. The question i hear the most is what Music Production Software is the best? Fruity Loops (FL Studio), Reason, Logic Pro or Protools.

Reason

Reason is properly my favourite because every single sample included in the software is perfect. Reason is normally used by producers that already have an idea of how to make music and advanced producers. The sound quality you can get out of reason is top notch and ready for radio play, it is recommended however you have to stay within reason. You cannot add VST’s and Plugins, however you can add samples to NNXT and Redrum. Below is a website where you can find tutorials on how to use Reason.

Pro Tools

Pro Tools is like Logic Pro. Industry standard. Pro Tools is normally used by producers that use instruments and hardware that require live recording to get sounds into the song. Pro Tools allows you to also like Logic do everything within one program, supports almost everything you throw at it. It is the worlds best but it also comes at a price and if you can afford it check it out, however don’t buy it for the name and expect to make hits.

Website – www.musicproducerpro.net

When it comes to what is popular in any chart weather it be pop, rnb, hip hop, rock .. anything! Auto Tune always seems to be the thing that gets these people these hit records and why.. it’s not exactly them singing is it.. so why are you not doing what they are doing to make some hit records and take over the world. If rappers like Drake can make a few songs using Autotune and is now looked at like he can actually sing.. i would say jump on the bandwagon.. it’s what the listener wants to hear that counts when it comes to making hit records, if your making music for yourself and don’t want to sell out this article won’t help you.

Autotune is a tool that was created many years ago and only a few artists like Zapp & Roger were using it on tracks like computer love. But now it’s used like mad to create hit records that teens are buying.. downloading and sharing with friends. Face it! Look in the charts.. at least 7 of the top 10 records use Autotune and why.. because it SELLS! Kanye West made a whole album using Autotune and went to number 1 with it.. it’s something that you cannot avoid!

How do you use Autotune? Well it’s basically you trying hit the note you want to and trying to hold it, you will need some kind of singing skill if you actually want it to be perfect but a mistake here or there the listener wouldnt even notice. Use some compression and echo or something and your good to go! It’s as simple as that.. the next step. Finding the lyrics for the song.. Autotune doesn’t do it all for you lol.

If you would like to learn how to use Autotune, please visitwww.musicproducerpro.net

http://www.musicproducerpro.net

Everyday a new producer is born around the world, well every few minutes to be honest and the industry is growing at an amazingly fast rate. There are people going to be producing music in 5 years that would have never thought about it before in there lives, some that are reading this article thinking about getting into the music industry but never thought about it before. There are so many different reasons people join the music industry, some for the passion, some because they have natural talent or some for the money however are they all successful?

The main reasons producers are finding it hard to get record deals with major record labels is because simply, there is so much competition and unless you have already done a lot of work and have some sort of fan base in some cases, the record label doesn’t want to know. You have to come like a ready made product this day in age in the music industry because If your not, some body else is ready to take your spot. Be warned the music industry is not a playground, you cannot expect to join it and expect a deal to come flying at you with no work put in on your side.

Another reason why Music producers are finding it hard to get record deals with major record labels is because the labels are lacking in money because of poor sales because of illegal downloading of MP3’s. This is effecting the whole entertainment industry because people are no longer buying, they are downloading and it is forcing record labels to get rid of acts.

Website – www.musicproducerpro.net

When it comes to picking music production software it’s very important that you find a piece of software that you find comfortable. The most popular music production softwares out on the market right now are Logic Pro 8 and Fruity Loops so i would recommend looking into one of those as the results they give are of industry standard with some of the top producers in the world using them.

Logic Pro i would generally say is more for the advance user who already knows how to use a sequencer to produce music – because realistically when you have learnt how you make music you can jump from program to program and make song. Logic pro is excellent for the producer who wants to produce a full song and master it and even add vocals to your song very easily instead of jumping to another program to record vocals – it’s truely amazing when it comes to the sound quality.

Fruity Loops i would generally say it’s a program for you to begin on however some producers never grow out of it because it’s also very powerful in what it does, you can record into it however i must admit it’s not the best and you cannot do as must as you can do in logic pro 8. But in terms of producing a beat or making music it’s extremely user friendly and something i believe is great for a beginner producer.

For more information on the software please visit – www.musicproducerpro.net

Website: www.musicproducerpro.net

I don’t know if you all are aware but some of the biggest rappers are now rapping on FL Studio beats. Jay Z kicked it off with 9th Wonder. Then came Franchise Boys, Crime Mob, & Soulja Boy on FL Studio. And now Drake’s producer Boi 1da who made “Forever” with Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Eminem is repping FL Studio.

I personally started off with hardware (MPC 2000XL / Motif) then i gradually moved to software. I think with everyone scrambling for Soulja Boy & Boi 1da’s beats now FL Studio is finally getting the Co-Signs that it needs to be a real force in “High End” music production and not just for bedroom producers & amatuer hobbyist.

I post this just to give yall a FYI on what’s going on and in no way am i telling you to use FL Studio if you want to make hot beats. I use all kinds of beat makng software & sequencers and there is no “magic hit maker” out there. You must learn your craft & study the game and it doesn’t matter if you rocking Hardware or Software. Hot Beats are Hot Beats, plain & simple.

The purpose of this post is to show how software only producers are finally being taken serious. FYI – Even Dr. Dre is rocking Reason now.

Starting a career in music production is something that has to be mastered and has to be taught. You cannot be naturally born knowing everything, knowledge and power in the world is taught to you and I am going to tell you many ways you can learn how to build a career in music production. Let’s start with the creative side of music production and where it all begins.

Music Production Software is where all the fun begins, Music Production Hardware is all part of it but generally speaking I am going to use the term Music Production Software. You will need this to create your music, and however you may start learning (through fruity loops, reason etc) but ultimately you will need to end up using industry standard music production software such as Pro Tools or Logic Pro. This will give you the freedom to move around different record studios. Check the link below for more information

The Music Production Equipment (Hardware) you use is just as important as the music software. Your production equipment could be your midi keyboard, microphone, digital keyboard (Triton, Yamaha etc), mixing desk, audio interface or many other different types of equipment. Learn to use them with the music production software because without the software it’s going to be hard to mix all the audio together to get a great mix. Invest in good quality equipment and the results you will great out of your music will be amazing – There are guides at the bottom of the page – follow the link.

Building up your knowledge for a career in Music Production is critical, so ensure you watch online Music Production Tutorials. They will give you everything you need to know production wise, you will be learning some of the same production methods as many established producers.
Anyone that may be more advanced than you get Music Production Tips from, it’s always good to learn and take on advice.

I wish your Career in Music Production to be amazing and you reach to the top.

Selling Beats Online
I could bore you with business terminologies, concepts, and how to properly apply them to the online beat market. But quite frankly, that kind of information won’t do you much good; business jargon only tend to complicate things, not solve problems. So with that being said I will try to minimize the business jargon, and lay down some fundamentals of branding and apply it to online beat selling, in hopes of increasing your probability of success selling beats online.

Branding
Brand your image, brand your music, and brand your communication. How can you do this? Here are a couple ideas you could experiment with:

1.	Create 1 alias only!: A lot of producers fall into the habit of creating several aliases due to legitimate reasons of their own. Fair enough, but in order to maintain a clientele base, instead of a customer basis, you have to be grounded and identifiable.

2.	Try to define your sound: This doesn’t mean making the same kind of beats over and over again. It simply means find/ create something distinct about your production. Whether it is layering your drums, passing guitars and other instruments through an effect that you’ve mastered, etc. You want people to be able to identify you, not only by your name but by your product (your beat). Kind of how you hear a Dr. Dre track and you know it’s Dr. Dre without browsing through the production credits

3.	Keep at it: Don’t expect to start selling beats over night, or over the span of a week, or a month. Some people do get lucky and start selling their beats as soon as the create an account on social beat networks and upload their music, for the rest of us, we understand that this kind of success requires a great deal of time and patience. During down time, you can focus your time on branding your image. If there is a beat you have that isn’t selling, talk to other producers on the site (successful producers) and ask them to leave feedback on a particular track you are having problems selling, and see if you can pinpoint the problem from the feedback they give you (Remember, their word isn’t golden, it is just a suggestion). If that doesn’t work, try advertising on the main page of beat social networks.

A couple things to keep in mind in case your music isn’t selling:

i.	Price: Are you charging too much in comparison to others
ii.	Quality: Is it properly mixed, a full song, etc.
iii.	Originality: Are there other tracks that sound the same that could be purchased for less
iv.	Exposure: Is the track being heard

4.	Learn some music theory: Music is an art form that has some basic rules that should be followed. This doesn’t mean that you can’t bend them; it just means you just can’t break them. If you’re really serious about making some money selling beats online, take the time out to learn some theory. There are some sites online that give free lessons on music theory. This will enable you to be more consistent in the quality of music you make, and help you distinguish yourself from other online producers.

5.	Mixing DOES matter: Although this may seem completely out of left wing, it is very instrumental in your production. Imagine if the sound guy didn’t have the volume high enough during the president’s inauguration. Take time with your mixes. It’s like yin to yang, the music isn’t more important than the mix, or vise versa. They compliment each other, so if you can’t mix, find some one who can, or learn how to

6.	Don’t compromise yourself: A lot of producers fall into the habit of selling their beats for next to nothing. This is only hurting you in the long run. You cripple your ability to evolve as a producer, because you are satisfied with your quantitative success, and you’re only creating a brand for yourself that you’ll find difficult to get out of. I mean, if you made a beat that you thought was hot, and posted it for a substantial price difference in comparison with the other tracks you have for sale, the probability of selling it will be pretty low, because they’d rather look for a substitute

7.	People are watching: The way you respond to people could affect you even if your intentions where good. Never forget, even though you may feel you are right about something, there are a million people out there that disagree. Keep your opinions unbiased, briefly address the issue and or concern, and let it be. * As long as it doesn’t attack you as a brand*

E.g. – You may run into a situation where someone disagrees with the genre or sub-genre of music you made. Since this could affect you indirectly, you should stand up for your brand, BUT ONLY DEFEND YOURSELF & WORKS WITH FACTS. The person you’re arguing with might be ignorant, but the rest of the people reading those posts aren’t

8.	Be humble: Online producers are a dime a dozen, you have to turn customer into clientele. Go online to producer forums, get to know the people on there, get to know artists, post up pictures of your self on your profile. Use these social tools to gain an advantage over your competitors. Treat people with respect and you will get respect back. It’s one thing to be competitive, it’s another thing to be arrogant.

These are just a couple things that could help you sell more beats. I’m not guaranteeing you that following these guidelines will guarantee you success; it is merely a step in the right direction. Good Luck!
